HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. —The Habersham County Sheriff and a deputy were shot Sunday (February 23, 2015)  night while responding to a domestic violence call.

The Habersham County manager told WYFF News 4 the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at a home outside of Clarksville, which is about 85 miles north of Atlanta.

One person was found dead at the scene and two more later died.

Rusty Andrews with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation told WSB that officers found a woman dead in the garage. He says when officers entered the house to check for other victims, “it appears they were ambushed.”

Some time ago, in Habersham County, Georgia, Officer Joey Terrell authorized the operation “No Knock Road,” that maimed and nearly killed a young toddler. Terrell was said to have thrown a flashbang grenade inside a residence that the police were raiding for a suspected drug dealer, without even bothering to check who is in the house. Unfortunately, the grenade caught the young toddler.
