Thousands of people are expected to march through London on Saturday in protest at the threat of more cuts to government services.
Anti-austerity campaigners will be joined by celebrities, politicians and union leaders at a rally following the election of the Conservative government.
Many are worried that plans to reduce government expenditure will leave schools, hospitals, social services and other branches of the state unable to provide for society.
People are expected to travel from across the UK to march from the City of London to Westminster, where they will listen to speeches.
Singer Charlotte Church will address the crowds, as will Len McCluskey of the Unite union, firefighters’ leader Matt Wrack, Labour leadership contender Jeremy Corbyn and Sinn Fein’s Martin McGuinness.
